Implementing integrated strategies to ensure sustainable performance and operational excellence in quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and business continuity.
In order to meet international standards, particularly the requirements of ISO 22301:2019 for business continuity management in crises, the senior management of the International Arbitration Union has documented and published a dedicated policy demonstrating its commitments related to this system.

Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) Policy

In line with achieving the strategic objectives of the International Arbitration Union to ensure the continuity of its vital operations under normal conditions and in emergencies and crises, as well as continuing to develop the arbitration system locally and internationally to achieve future justice and provide efficient services, the Union is committed to implementing, improving, and maintaining a Business Continuity Management System in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 22301 and related guidelines issued by national and international bodies for emergency, crisis, and disaster management. This commitment ensures the preservation of business continuity, the provision of services, the implementation of processes, and meeting the requirements and expectations of stakeholders without delay or negative impact resulting from emergencies, crises, and disasters.

In establishing the Business Continuity Management System, our policy is focused on adhering to the following principles:
• Analyzing vital activities, identifying their requirements, and assessing the necessary compliance for business continuity, ensuring that the requirements of stakeholders and interested parties are not adversely affected.
•Assessing and analyzing the impact of the interruption of vital activities on the Union's operations in emergency situations (such as disasters, terrorist attacks, labor strikes, cyberattacks, building collapses, information security breaches, etc.).
• Protection against disruptions, reducing the likelihood or impact of their occurrence, and establishing mechanisms for preparedness, response, and recovery.
• Determining and assessing the time frame necessary to restore operations, activities, and services after any incident occurs.
• Assessing risks, protecting lives and property, and enhancing the Union's ability to sustain operations during disruptions/emergencies, while demonstrating proactive control over risks effectively and efficiently.
• Commitment of employees at all levels to perform their assigned tasks and implement all business continuity plans and strategies to ensure the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the Union.
• Compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Continuous improvement through learning from experiences, successful exercises, and relevant best practices.

The Union recognizes the operational, strategic, financial, and potential risks to stakeholders associated with incidents that may disrupt business continuity. It also acknowledges the importance of organizational resilience to minimize the impact of such incidents and continue providing its critical services at an acceptable and agreed-upon level. The purpose of this policy is to provide administrative guidance for establishing a Business Continuity Management System within the Union. This policy also provides a foundational framework for developing an effective Business Continuity Management System and for implementing, managing, and maintaining the system for all services, operations, activities, and support functions within the Union.
